Artist Statement 
Throughout the years my art has evolved from drawing simple snapshots, to creating meaningful drawings and paintings. Before, I used to like creating pieces based on other people's lives and experiences, but now, I enjoy noticing the small details that go on in my family and creating works that depict my own personal life. My art portrays parts of my everyday struggles, especially on how my hair has always been a part of me and my culture. For so long, my hair made me feel restrained, and although it felt meaningless at times, it also felt like it was so meaningful at the same time. I continue to find myself through my artworks and they help me grow and express my emotions.
